SHAKTI
North 24 Parganas Sammyao Sramogibi Samity (NSSS)
Through SHAKTI project, community based rehabilitation is being ensured for survivors of human trafficking. In this project, survivors’ need based rights are being identified and based on these needs, survivors get the services from government. A tool (CIT-Case Intake Tool) has been developed for planning and right based case management of each survivor. During this year, role shifting in case management has been happened. Now survivors have started to manage their case by their own. Livelihood and financial development of the survivors through SHG (Self Help Group) is also a major part of the project. The survivors exclusive SHG namely Kadamphool, comprises of 10 survivors, is also facilitated and empowered the survivors for their income generation. Through various trainings survivors have taken responsibility for community awareness, support peers to protect from domestic violence and child marriage. In Baduria block, there are 17 survivors who are being helped to get services (Like- Food & Nutrition, physical and mental health, housing, Sanitation grant, stigma mitigation etc.) from the government departments through this case management activity.
