Community Based Prevention Program

Currently, NSS has selected five villages through vulnerability mapping. Child protection and child development work is being done intensively in those villages. Formed 5 children groups both boys and girls to identify their needs, linking them with services according to those needs, orienting them on child protection issues and understanding them on how to protect themselves from various external risks or violence, above all to develop leadership quality in them are the aim of this project. The name of this project is community resilience for prevention. Parents of these children are also being oriented on child protection and child rights through meetings. In addition to that, we are trying to build a healthy relationship between parents and children through parenting practice workshops in order to build up the relationship between parents and children.

Through this activity, parents can understand the risk of children and protect them accordingly. We are motivating the local clubs and make them volunteers so that they can do vigilance work in their areas. We are motivating to duty bearers (Panchayat, block administration, district level administration, police, Health etc) through several meetings and information sharing for taking responsible on child protection issue. We are building liaise with duty bearers to identify the needs of children and proviing linkage services to them. Apart from this, we are also creating volunteers from the community so that any incident that occurs in the community can be resolved by the people of the community. Four village wise whatsapp groups have been created with these community volunteers so that information of any violence can be shared quickly. Meetings with conducted with School management committee to transform this committee to Child protection committee. As maximum children are under school so this committee are performing well to protect children.
