CHILDLINE in Baduria and Swarupnagar blocks is established to provide assistance to all the children who are in need of care and protection in the blocks. The service is provided through a toll-free 24 hours emergency phone service (1098). It aims to respond not only to emergency needs but also to link them to various services established for their long-term care and rehabilitation. CHILD LINE has been designed to act as a crucial link between children in need and care and protection and the available facilities. This one-point contact is meant to facilitate instant access to support, advice and active intervention. The 2023-24, Child Line Project has gone through a transition period in NSS. After October, responsibility for Child Line was transferred from the NGO to the government.
